EVIDENCE was originally developed by First Work in 2005, also known as the Ontario Association of Youth Employment Centres. First Work advocates for a sustainable youth employment delivery network in Ontario. Through supporting the work of local youth employment centres across Ontario, First Work aims to help youth find and keep meaningful employment that will help improve the quality of their lives. Since 1988, First Work and its network of over 70 service organizations have been committed to delivering accessible, high quality, outcomes-based employment services to youth by engaging in:
  • Knowledge Transfer – a multidirectional exchange of information and expertise between communities, governments, organizations, and academics.
  • Public Policy Development – information and action on provincial and federal policies that affect the youth employment sector.
  • Professional Development – sector training and networking opportunities including Canada's largest annual conference for the youth employment sector.
  • Strategic Communications – building and maintaining strong public relations focused on youth employment.
