Participatory
Evaluations
EVIDENCE
engages agency stakeholders in a process that generates compelling evidence
for decision-making. The process can be tailored to meet needs that are
specific to each organization. The process consists of 3 Stages, that
include 7 Steps. Our consultants guide the process to completion, to ensure
that organizations and their funders get the results they need.
EVIDENCE
recognizes that most organizations have very little time to devote to
program evaluation. Although participants are involved in every stage
of the evaluation, the time needed is minimal. Our experience and highly
developed procedures ensure that time is used effectively and projects
completed on schedule.
EVIDENCE
consultants act as facilitators, collaborators, learning resources, and
project managers for the evaluation. EVIDENCE facilitates each stakeholder
meeting, prepares all of the materials for the evaluation, leads all data
collection and collation, facilitates the interpretation and recommendation
discussions, and produces the final report. Participants do not need to
prepare for meetings in advance, nor are they required to perform data
collection. In most cases, participants are required only to attend the
meetings.
Stage
1: Preparing for the Evaluation
 |
EVIDENCE
meets with the agencies contact person to exchange information
and conduct an initial scoping of the evaluation. |
 |
 |
EVIDENCE
works with agencies to identify interested people (e.g. members of
the agency, funders, clients, community members) to sit on a Stakeholders
Committee. This committee guides the evaluation. |
Stage
2: Conducting the Evaluation
 |
EVIDENCE
and the Stakeholders Committee meet to focus the goals and objectives
of the evaluation. From this information, EVIDENCE will develop evaluation
questions. |
 |
 |
EVIDENCE
and the Stakeholders Committee review, critique and validate
EVIDENCEs evaluation design. The Stakeholders Committee
approves the research methods to be employed. |
 |
 |
EVIDENCE
implements and/or facilitates the research methods approved by the
Stakeholders Committee. EVIDENCE collates the data collected,
and analyzes the information. |
 |
 |
EVIDENCE
works with the Stakeholders Committee to interpret data and
facilitate the development and implementation of recommendations. |
Stage
3: Utilizing the Evaluation Findings
 |
After
the evaluation is complete, EVIDENCE works with agencies to identify
strategies and develop action plans that incorporate the evaluation
findings into service delivery.
